Thanks to Amanda, Brandon and Braden, and Emily for helping me out at Arts Day today. We got to teach karate to four different sets of 3rd graders outside on a nice day and everybody did a good job. It definitely went off without a hitch.

I see it's been awhile since the last update. Not much has changed - I'm still taking orders for holiday party DVDs and have a good number left. Remember to click the image above and send us a donation for Relay for Life!!! Other topics of interest...

I've completed the UFC shop, somewhat. I haven't included all 298 products that my site for the links listed, but I've included a good cross section of those links, I thought.

There is a new Black Belt Magazine out, meaning a new article from Mr. Chianakas. This time Mr. C talks to Mike Chat about how he used the martial arts to cope with being a teenager. We got a new printer, so the scans look lots better than they did before. Many of the MMA "old-timers" will remember Mike Chat visiting our Sunnyland dojo in October 2004, bringing on all forms of local media.

I'm taking orders for the 2007 Holiday DVD in the thread below. Pick yours up if you were there. There were 20 copies printed (-1 for me), and three people want theirs so that means there are only 16 left.

Not much in the news department today. Check out the boards for the August trip, Old Settlers, Relay for Life, etc.

It's been a very busy day for me. I made a decision Monday night to go ahead and release the 2007 Holiday Party early. I will be posting more details when my mind is not so frazzled. Minus SWAT meeting at DQ and RGS, I have literally been working on the actual production of the DVD since 1 this afternoon. I'm currently burning the discs and will make an initial launch of 20. Still, not all the right things are in place and probably won't be until Monday...mainly, I need to come up with a design for the cover. The disc will be for sale for $10, and I'll take cash, check, or PayPal. It will be available very, very soon in the Shop. Check out this thread.

I've revamped the Shop a little bit. Click the link on the left and scroll down to find Karate Depot, Century, and UFC links. Century's products do not show up in the thing we have set up, but UFC finally does now so I'll try to get some UFC products coded in there soon.

But enough banter - let's talk August! The latest word is that cabins have been booked. This topic is where you will find all you need to know!

Grade school parents - remember the only school running next week is Riverview, which will be your last class until the June schedule starts.

Congratulations to everybody who is back from yesterday's tournament in Moline. Mr. John Morrow hosted his second tournament of the year in Moline, and Metamora Martial Arts was proud to bring home lots of hardware. For the official count, check this link.

Visit the Shop for a link to the warmups that are now on sale for everybody. These were the warmups that Mr. C got his active black belts at last December's awards party (which will be available in full on the 2008 highlight DVD!). I wanted to make a quick update about this and say that I will be upgrading the shop sometime soon. I'd like to get it done this weekend, but I make no promises with finals in classes I need to maintain A's in. I should have it done by the end of next week for sure. Basically what I want to do is make four separate shop pages so they're not all on the same one.

The archives are safely uploaded in a new HTML document and I've also added graphics to the Schedule/Events page to help you navigate it a little better. I'm going to try and incorporate a few more images where I can on the site.

A note to my adult class - there will be a stripe test May 6 at MGS for those who only go to Metamora, and on May 8 for anybody who doubles or is strictly Germantown. On May 13, Deshi Amanda Dixon is hosting a pizza party as a farewell since it will be her last time in charge of MTHS.
