It has been decided that Monday, October 1, will be the official debut of the NEW MetamoraMartialArts.com. As stated earlier, the homework load depends on when I actually upload the new site, though hopefully it will be before noon. Unless a sudden change happens, expect this to be the last Newswire update until Monday.

First of all, who is coming to Beloit on Sunday, October 7?

Second, I forgot my camera today, so more pics will be taken on Thursday. But I'm taking a look and I should be able to upload the brand new website sometime between Saturday and Monday. I'm thinking to coincide with the Newswire Archives, I might wait until my 4-hour break on Monday morning, October 1. That depends on the homework load over the weekend, though.

New Website - Those who I got pictures of, I mentioned this to you. I hope to finish up pics tonight.

Forum Support/FAQ - This forum is if you have trouble with the forum itself. Martial arts-related questions should go elsewhere.

If you have general questions, go to the Search link in the upper right to see if your question/concern has been addressed.

Make sure to sign up, introduce yourselves, and remain active. In my opinion, the forum is the most valuable and powerful part of the website and I would like everybody to check it at least once a day. There are also non-karate related forums with entertainment, games, and more.

If you are joining, MAKE SURE TO LET ME KNOW YOU ARE IN KARATE! If I don't know, you won't be allowed access to the Arcade. Access to the arcade requires you to pay a small point fee per game, but you can earn points by being active and posting! Martial arts parents - let me know if you sign up and if your son/daughter is in the program, because parents get Arcade access too. :)

There is also a mondo chatroom, capable of holding 50 people. I tried hosting a chat during a UFC fight night once and a few people came. If there's interest in hosting a big chat, let me know so we can all go in at once.

Right now, I'm finishing up another set of highlight DVDs - if you want one, let me know! There is a total of six, with two being paid for already, so I have four up for grabs! Cost is just $12.

But let's be honest here - I'm really typing this and burning DVDs so I can put off the art project I'm working on.

In other news, the play is still open tonight and tomorrow. Several of our own Metamora Martial Artists are involved, so go and support them if you can!

REMINDERS: North American Nationals tournament is October 7 in Beloit, IL. For more info, check the Tournaments section. Also, I'll be taking more pictures on Tuesday while stretching. And, Woodford County Teen Jamboree is October 19. Check the forums for more information.

I took pictures of a lot of people last night, but I still don't have everything. I thought everybody should know that once this roster page is taken care of, the website will be complete. Whether you have a profile or not, the site goes up - I just want to make sure I have pictures of everybody. I started putting my design together tonight with a few people and it looks pretty sweet, I think. I should definitely make my goal of October 7.

So now, get yourself a bio! Even if you're new, that's fine. Everybody is welcome to be involved with this.

Congratulations to most of the adults last night, as I surprised them with a stripe test. Curtis and John are now yellow belts, Steve has 2 stripes on his yellow belt, and Robert has 1 stripe on his yellow belt. Green belts are making considerable progress, but I can see that there is still much more improvement in the coming weeks and months.

I caught the tail end of some promotions at the high school as well. Congratulations!

Tomorrow - I will be taking pictures and writing down names/ranks of everybody. This will be the for new site, which I hope to have completed before October 7's tournament in Beloit.

Work on the new site is coming along nicely. Ideally I'd like to have the majority of it up by the time I pass out flyers in Beloit. Speaking of Beloit, start training hard because October 7 will be here before you know it! I will be driving the Red Demon up there, so if you guys want rides, let me know. So far, I have one person who wants to ride with me.

Class is back to normal this week at all schools. White belts - you're mine on Tuesday. Thursday I will be taking pictures for the new website. Make sure to check the forums for a special site update. What I have in my mind is really cool as far as this one thing goes, and it'll look cool when all the dust settles. I spent most of the night working on it tonight and it looks slick!

In other news, demo team for varsity football has been cancelled. Sorry.

I want to end on a positive note - pick up a yearbook this week, as rumor has it they are coming in. Yours truly worked on the cover!

I'm ready for bed tonight. Hopefully I'll have some more news to post later this week.

Welcome to everybody who's just joining us for the first time. Enjoy the website - take a look around and do a little extra learning about our program. For those of you who are new, this website will be undergoing a different look in the next few months. Head to the forums to vote on the new version of the website. Join them, post, and read up on the knowledge contained. After you're done with that, take some time to relax and check out some of the history of our program at the photo gallery, which includes close to 1,000 pictures. Last, but not least, there is a YouTube account with several videos of us, most of which is from the last year.

Hey, I saw this posted on the high school webpage from yesterday's announcements...

Samantha Moore was chosen as one of only 11 art students in the area to participate in the Peoria Art Guild MAP program this summer. It is very intense summer program where the students work under the supervision of professional artists all day, 5 days a week for 8 weeks. TONIGHT is the opening reception for those students at the Peoria Art Guild from 5:30-7:30. If you get a chance go see Samantha tonight and check out all of the great work. The show runs through September 22.

Get ready for a big forums push post, because here it comes...

Check out stuff for the demo. Deshi Adam and I will most likely be leading it. However, if we can't make the times work then we'll have to call it off. We'll probably only be able to meet a few times, so we'll have to really work.

Also, check out new website designs. The sooner I get feedback, the sooner we'll have a brand new site!

And finally, stay tuned for the forums as I plan to make a major announcement there regarding next year's open tournament in the next week, hopefully.

Another month, another archive. Happy September.

It is with great pleasure I announce to you that I am going to give the MetamoraMartialArts.com an overhaul! I've wanted to do this for the past 3 or 4 months, but didn't have the technology available for me to do so. The goal is to be able to unveil this new site at the time of our holiday party. The forums and gallery will remain the same, but the main site will be freshened up. I've started tinkering with some things today, and I'm not entirely sure how I want to do it. But now that all the content is on my Macbook, I should just have to redesign stuff and put the actual content into the new page.
