Reminder to everybody to study for finals tonight, as it is a black belts & graduates-only class tonight.

Also, Mr. C has sent an e-mail out of boredom, I'm assuming, loaded with all kinds of information. First of all is Relay for Life. Check your e-mail for a list or go to him and sign up what you're going to bring. KEEP TRYING TO RAISE MONEY - everybody's goal should be $100!

Stripe test starts at 7:00 PM next Tuesday in the commons. At 8:30 will be an open mat, which is REQUIRED for those of you competing in the US Open. Kobudo will start at the Craigs' house next Thursday, take a week off because of karate camp, and start back up again at my (Adam Bockler) house on the 21st.

Soo Kim tournament is June 10 and is highly recommended for those entering. You must provided your own transportation to and from the tournament! More info on that is coming soon.

Finally, order your very own Metamora Martial Arts hat! They're just 10 bucks - pay now or later.

I just e-mailed Mr. C about getting the June calendar up for both programs, so hopefully I should have those soon to put up.

Just a reminder that I will be out of town from the 3rd through the 9th. I'll still be active on the forums if you need me but I will not be working on this part of the site.

Make sure to hit class this week! Stripe reviews continue on Tuesday, with the test to begin this time next week. Hopefully many of you will be sticking around for the summer to continue training. Black belts and graduates will also have a special class with Mr. Hawkey on Thursday. This is designed so the lower ranks have time to study for finals.

Also, check out the YouTube account for new videos (on the left as highlight videos) and also the Gallery for some brand new pictures!

Well, my firewire came yesterday so I've been looking through all my tapes like crazy to get video uploaded to the YouTube account. Check out the link on the left - Highlight Videos - to see THREE videos of Metamora Martial Arts. One is an XMA form, another is a custom bo form, and the other is from the senior awards assembly.

I made a thread in the forums about this (before I uploaded the bo form this morning) and the plan is to tape class this week to have more footage for the highlight video.

I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since I last updated. Sorry about that. I was busy finishing stuff up for school and I guess I lost track.

New videos will be up within the next few weeks. I received my laptop last Friday and my cable is on its way as of today.

Thanks to EVERYBODY who came out to the Harrison & Dorris seminar last night. Hopefully everybody had fun and I hope to see some of you posting on the forums about last night. I noticed some parents taking pictures, so I've set up a photo album for everybody.

I'm back again for another night, but THIS time I'm listening to Black Label Society. :)

Reschedule whatever you have on your calendars for May 22 because that night is going to be intense! Instead of regular class, we have invited the Harrison and Dorris College of Martial Arts to Metamora for a seminar. We are looking to do an open tournament next spring and already have Kuk Sool Won locked on in exactly two months on July 22. This seminar will focus on many things, including what we're looking for in our tournament and generally just networking with another school. I've been here nearly four years and this is the first time I can recall us every doing anything this special.

I've set up a guest forum on the boards for anybody not wanting to register. Basically, it's a welcoming place for our new friends from H&D and KSW. I believe after this, I'll finally set up a page full of links to other schools and cool martial arts links. Stay tuned for that soon after school is out (only 8 more left for us, seniors!)

Since I was kind of crunched for time last night, I'll post links to some interesting topics tonight...

Upcoming tourneys
Kuk Sool Won training day
PE waiver info
Grade School announcements
Mr. Stephens' Riverview notes
Mr. Stephens' Letter to Parents
Universal Martial Arts club demo @ Bradley
Mixed Martial Arts news updated several times a week

REMINDERS: Candy money was due TODAY, so if you don't have yours in, GET IT IN!!! Also, keep remembering to collect for Relay for Life. Before you know it, school is going to be out and you guys will be staying up all night at MTHS while I'm on my home from Tennessee.

FINALLY: If you register at the boards (and are a Metamora Martial Artist), PM me. Or if you register and are new, drop me a PM just to say hi. I like those.

Wednesday, May 9, 2007

REMINDER: Awards assembly is next Wednesday, May 16, at the MTHS auditorium. :)

Also, I added the Harrison and Dorris tournament, schedule for August 11. See the Upcoming Tournaments page for more details.

There is some other stuff on the forums that, at the moment, I don't want to waste my time typing them up at the moment since there are several new, interesting topics there. PLEASE go see them and reply.

I tried installing a tiny mod on the forums that would send a Welcome PM to new members to tell me whether or not they were karate members to allow them into the Arcade. It ticked me off so I just decided to stop and I'll figure something else out.

As far as Relay for Life goes, I'm well past my goal already. Apparently, this year, all registration must be done online. I think it's a great idea.

Talk about the Relay or sign up or make a donation for our team.

Finally tonight, congratulations to Mr. C for getting an official date for his article! Our Sensei will be featured in August 2007's issue of Black Belt Magazine for Fear in Self-Defense.

Tuesday, May 1, 2007

April's archives are now up.

Also, I've added May and June calendars to both the programs, so click on Class Schedule -> whatever program.

I started filming for the highlight video this afternoon. If anybody knows if I can get a firewire cable to adapt to a USB cable, let me know. My camera is on firewire and I don't think I have a port anywhere on my computer for it.

Finally, I thought I'd let everyone know Snyder Village is doing a blood drive on May 24, any time between 1 PM and 6 PM. I'm out of school (seniors rule!) so I'm looking to go and donate some more blood.
