It's been a long time without an update, but a thunderous update is in store tonight.

First, Mr. Chianakas has had his Fight vs. Flight article accepted to Black Belt Magazine. This article can be found in the the Black Belt Essay forum. When an update on when the article will appear is known, I'll be sure to post it here as soon as I can. I'm especially pumped because I'm in a few of the photos that were sent in to go along with the article. :)

When I logged onto the boards in Senior English today, I noticed Mr. C had been busy. We talked about some things this morning, but I can envision him racing to get this stuff done during his free period. He's gone into detail about all of this stuff at the boards, so I'll post links...

Arts Day - May 4 - one of my personal favorites
2007 Highlight Video
Grade School Karate Camp

Plus, in case you haven't checked out older stuff like summer schedules for both grade schools and high school, and a 2008 summer trip. AND for your mixed martial arts fans, I'm trying to post an MMA update every other day, at least!

REMINDER to get your $5 in if you're doing Relay for Life. I can't stick around there and get an awful tan like I did last year since I'll be in Tennessee, but PLEASE go if you can. It's a lot of fun - demos, breaking, hanging out...it's pretty sweet.

ANOTHER REMINDER: Those who want to go to South Beloit on April 29 (check Tournaments link) should be preparing now. This is a big tournament with big rewards for those who do well. For those who may not do so well, it is a good learning experience. I enjoyed going in October so if you're thinking about going, we have done this tournament before and it's fun.

LAST REMINDER: Fundraising is in full swing for the Florida trip this summer! If you want some caramel bars to sell, get to Mr. C.

And, the Virtual Stock Exchange game is starting Monday, April 2. So if you want to play, check the Forum Games/Arcade forum.

It's been Stripe-Mania the past couple weeks! So congratulations to everybody at both the high school and grade school for getting striped and/or promoted tonight. It's pretty cool to watch everybody advance.

PARENTS: I saw a lot of pictures being taken at tonight's MGS class. I want to encourage you to post your pictures at the Gallery!! Set up an account if you haven't already and put them up in the Class album.

I've already updated the High School Roster with new profile pictures for those of you who got a full belt promotion. If I missed you somehow, e-mail me. Or if you want a picture on the site and you don't have one already, e-mail me a picture of yourself and I'll fix you up.

There is a tournament in Pekin on Saturday to benefit St. Jude. I posted a topic on it at the boards and encourage anyone who can go to go.

Speaking of the boards, it's literally 3 posts away from 800 posts! It has 80 registered members but I'm a little disappointed that only a small fraction of you 80 actually post - so get posting!

Congrats to everybody at MGS this week for their stripes and promotions!

Also, about a month ago I started looking at getting a chat room installed. There was kind of one that is sponsored by IPB, and I kicked that idea around, but decided against it. Then, at the TalkImpact.com boards, I noticed a chat room that was awesome - The X7 Chat v2.0. I've been in there and the admins there have already customized theirs and it looks sharp. I talked to an admin and he said he just saw it this morning. So I took it upon myself to install it HERE! Head on over to the forums and check it out - it's on the "link parade" in the top right next to where the Arcade is. There are mods I can get for it too, and I'm sure I'll be installing them soon enough.

I didn't realize it had been 10 days since an update. Mr. C has posted a lot of polls asking for info on the summer program for both the grade school and high school programs, as well as a summer 2008 trip.

The Gallery also has a new album specifically for pictures taken during class. So if you have pictures you took during a class, they now have a spot.

REMINDER: I'm still trying to plug that the roster section of the site is still pretty weak. I think a few of you (at the high school) got promoted but I don't really remember. So if the info is wrong, let me know.

I've got all the header graphics taken care of.

I've just updated the March schedule for the grade schools. It is under Class Schedule -> Grade School.

UPDATE: I've added new graphics (the first of hopefully many to come) in sections where I've divided up the grade school and high school program. Also, in the forums, there is a poll for those of us going to Orlando in the summer. Be sure to check it out if you are going!

I actually updated last night but wanted everybody to see it, so I just labeled it March. Mr. C has a March calendar for only the high schools so far. It is under the High School Schedule. Some cool notes are that EVERYBODY is set to stripe review towards the end of the month. Also, black belts will be with Mr. Hawkey one of the Thursdays this month. And, what I'm most pumped for, the return of SWAT! I talked with Mr. C tonight and whoever currently regularly assists is welcome.

The grade school schedule is not yet finished.

REMINDER: There are demos tomorrow at MGS. For those of you involved, this is a reminder.

NOTICE: There are no Saturday classes scheduled this month.

I noticed a lot of people on the forums last night that I haven't seen in awhile. For those of you missing out, here are some of the newer topics up for discussion...

High School Survey
Our own Aaron Ruder is rewarded
Mr. C's article on the mental side of being a black belt
Your Top 10 Favorite Bands
Two articles on UFC's continuing growth

Aside from this, the Tetris tournament is underway. There seems to be a glitch with it though. If it doesn't work out, I'll head to the forum I got it from and check for help.
