I've updated the handbooks. Last night Steve brought it to my attention that there was no double low block written in. To eliminate any confusion, I've added it to both versions of the handbook. So now the handbooks should be right.

I've added the September calendar in the Schedules side. So if you didn't get a print copy, check it out and download it. It's combined with both grade schools and high schools. Germantown won't start up again till Sept 14, but the rest are alive and well as of now.

Also, I've got some awesome news. In the last few hours the Ultimate Fighting Championship has also accepted to give us a 6% kickback fee for orders placed on their website with links on ours. UFC and Karate Depot links are at the bottom. Hopefully nobody is getting too bothered by a few more image links. You might think it's annoying, but if stuff is bought from there, we get 5% back from Century and 6% back from Karate Depot and UFC. So keep that in mind.

Mr. C has uploaded some pics to the H&D tournament, which are good. The Schertz family also have some pictures they will upload when they get the chance.

I think that's all I have for an update right now.

Good news, mainly for me, but also for you as well. To spare you the boring technical mumbo jumbo that I don't really fully understand, I can now update everything on the website from the comfort on my Macbook at any time. So if I need to make a necessary update at school or anywhere else with a place for me to get Internet access, I can. It used to be that I'd have to leave my Mac to use the desktop with which I created this beast.

And because it's on my Mac, it's on the powerful Dreamweaver software I purchased which makes for updates a ton quicker. I had been using Notepad, which meant I had to hand-code everything. Now with a few clicks, everything is formatted for me.

KarateDepot.com is now affiliated with Metamora Martial Arts through Commission Junction. Any link followed to KD from MMA.com can generate 6% kickback. I'm also looking on the same kind of deal with the UFC website.

Big things will be happening for the 2008 open tournament. Tomorrow I will be making some calls. :)

Speaking of tomorrow, I won't be at MGS because of a meeting at Bradley. If Sheryl Robertson is there, she's looking for help to move a swingset. She lives right in town, so it'd be a quick thing to do after class.

Are there any pictures from the Harrison & Dorris tournament in Peoria? It's been two weeks and the Photo Gallery is still looking for pictures from the August 11 tourney. I'll be taking it down Monday if there are no pictures. If you get pictures after Monday, let me know and I'll make another album.

Thanks to those who have already agreed to purchase a DVD. Last night I went to Wal-Mart, and at the advisement of Joshu Amanda and a crazy stranger, I purchased a label maker. I tested it out tonight and it looks very cool. Hopefully this week I can get Holden Gerkin to my house to do the audio for the 2008 tournament commercial.

I wanted to update this sooner but work and doing some stuff in preparation for our 2008 Open Tournament has gotten in the way.

Thank you to everybody who came out on Thursday to see the video! After mentioned that I was thinking of selling it, several people immediately told me they wanted to buy a copy. So, with that response, I decided that I do want to sell the 2007 Metamora Martial Arts Highlight Video! Discs will be $12.

Included on the discs will be footage from multiple class, Arts Day in Washington last May, Old Settlers in June, Auvenshine's tournament in Auburn last January, and plenty of footage in Orlando in July! In addition, there is a fun bonus video featuring some of the craziest martial artists we have. These videos are the highest possible quality (higher than you'll see on YouTube!).

Also included for the first time on a digital format are half a dozen news stories on our very own program, from all three networks! Plus, I've included the US Open and Karate Camp videos. However, these are the same quality as you see on YouTube.

And, as a special bonus, one video will be included that never made it to air during the party! Although I had most of the footage and ideas thought up, my brother and Adam decided I did not have an announcer voice. So I'm looking at getting a friend to do the voiceover for...our commercial for the 2008 tournament!

If you want to buy a copy, please send me an e-mail (link to Contact on the left!) with your names, the amount of discs you want, and how you will pay (PayPal is preferred using the same e-mail, but cash or check is fine). I will be doing them in batches, so first come, first serve.

OTHERWISE: Class this week is normal. Check the e-mail Mr. C sent to you.

I wanted to direct everybody to an awesome link at the forums that addresses why this site will begin looking a little different in the coming hours and days. Click here!

I apologize for the lack of updates over the past week or so. However, as summer is winding down and most of you are getting back to school (Bradley still has 8 more days!), the need for updates has kind of dwindled. However, today's update is jam-packed.

First and foremost, I have FINALLY completed the highlight video. After pouring through literally hours of footage, I think I have captured in 20 minutes almost all of the big moments of the past year. Next year, I've already decided I'm going to break it up into semesters instead of spending three weeks of my summer slaving over it again. So, I'll be showing up at class several times throughout the semester with my camera and tripod in hand. But that's still a year away, and the party for THIS YEAR'S video is on THURSDAY! Please come if you can.

Also, and I have done this in awhile, but I want to keep the forums active. Therefore, here are a list of topics that have been pretty popular over the last week or so...

Metamora Martial Arts did excellent yesterday at the tournament in Peoria! Check the Tournaments page for results.

To anybody who picked up a flyer and checks out this site - welcome, and we hope you will join us next April for our first-ever open tournament.

Class is normal this week, I do believe. If things get moved around because of the heat, the forums are more than likely your first chance of knowing.

I've stayed pretty busy the last week with highlight video stuff. I worked on it this morning/afternoon and it's looking all right. As far as the premier, the date is up in the air. My schedule conflicted with the 18th, so we moved to the 17th. Some people don't want to do it the 17th. Keep your eyes peeled to the forum because that will probably be the first place where a time/date is official.

Mr. C and I have stayed busy working on some things for our first-ever open tournament next April. I'm planning on putting a few commercials together and start having them appear on various pages of the website.

Reminder: The H&D tournament is this weekend. Good luck to those competing. Hopefully those of you who are going will be able to take pictures and video of the event!

POST YOUR GOALS! A new round of goal-posting is up for those of you who haven't seen it. Last time a ton of people were involved and hopefully we can more than duplicate that same success. Click here to share your goals!

I added a new link on the left to the Village of Metamora website. It's pretty slick and, as I understand it, Metamora Martial Arts will be listed there shortly!

A new tournament has been updated - the Supreme Way Challenge on November 3, 2007.

Speaking of tournaments, Harrison & Dorris College of Martial Arts is putting on their tournament in just over a week! If you're on the border of wanting to compete, go ahead and go for it! As Mr. C has stated over the past two days - people know you because of local tournaments, not tournaments like the US Open.

July has been a long month. And that's why I'm starting August a day early. Actually, I wanted to update the newswire with some important stuff but didn't want it to be hidden tomorrow when I put all July's stuff in the Archives. There hasn't been anything new since I updated last week.

Tonight (or tomorrow, for those of you still in July) is filming for the highlight video. Please bring a full uniform, all your martial arts apparel, and anything else I've listed in this thread.

Not only is the August calendar now available (and for the first time ever, I believe, it has also been e-mailed to you), but a bunch of notes regarding August are too. Make sure to read over those, because they cover information on the PE waiver, when new students will flock in, stuff you need to buy, etc.

Harrison & Dorris College of Martial Arts' tournament is coming up sooner than I thought. I double-booked myself, in a sense, so I will not be available to film this particular event.

Speaking of film, I've found a place to convert my VHS tapes to DVD for very cheap (thank you, Bradley). Hopefully my dad can take care of that business soon so I can still use that stuff on the 2007 video. I am, however, missing one tape that I know has to have footage on it.

For those of you who are interested in assisting at the grade schools this year, please attend karate on Monday, August 13 for a meeting.

It's still eight months away but I've been busy getting advertisement work done for our first-ever open tournament on Saturday, April 5, 2008. I've already done two flyers and have a few more tricks up my sleeve for the event that I've been working on with Mr. C. By the fall, I'm looking to have some stuff printed out.
