Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and that Santa brought everybody what they wanted.
I just wanted to let everybody know that I've updated the awards, mainly. My mind has slipped on who won some of the awards, so if you are an award winner, feel free to contact me and let me know. Again, for the high school students, if you want your picture and profile updated, you need to contact me with that information as well.
I hope to see many of you tonight at Justin's ceremony, and at the advanced competition team tomorrow night from 6-8PM.
The site has been put online in its entirety. Congrats to everybody involved with the test yesterday. I've updated the pictures of everybody I have; this can also be another reminder to let me know if you want your picture/profile uploaded. You can either send me your pictures and I'll edit them, or I can shoot you with my own camera.
Lots of news and such in six days. I've changed the site around from the original way I was going to do it, and I'm happier with the newer way I've done it. Basically, it makes my job easier. I'm also figuring out Coppermine, and now we're able to upload pictures to any album. It's set up so that I need to approve photos before the rest of the world can view them. I like it like that because I like looking at pictures and it also lets me know what's being uploaded. More on how you can help with the media part of the site next week.
Aside from major happenings with the site, we've also had a busy weekend with the program. We did an awesome demo at the Peoria Civic Center before the Rivermen game on Friday night and had a fun time in the stands, and Justin Knobelauch successfully passed his black belt test yesterday! The ceremony will be Wednesday, December 27 at 6:30 in the Old Gym.
After what looked to be a headache, I easily installed Coppermine Photo Gallery to the server, which means that we now have a smooth-running place to put our pictures. In order to get pictures online, register an account and upload away. I'm not experienced with CPG and currently I don't think you can upload directly into the galleries I've set up. Hopefully by the party I'll have figured that out, but until then, just upload it into your own album and I'll move it to the right place from there.
Hope it was a fun day for everybody with the snow and all. I spent a good majority of the day working on various parts of the site, with the most noticeable difference being the grade school page. For the first time today, there is actually something to show for it. Another big improvement is that I've got about half of the roster's pictures, and have included a kind of sub-roster of those who still come when they can, but aren't active on a regular basis.
Congratulations to everybody who competed in the tournament yesterday. Hopefully it was a fun learning experience for everybody. The goal of our tournament is to have fun. Also, thanks to the family and friends of the competitors for coming out and supporting our group. A special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Aldus for an awesome performance yesterday. Finally, congratulations to Adam Ulbricht for his promotion to second-degree black belt!
